5 Ways to Keep Your Kids Entertained in DerbyJune 30th, 2017
With the summer school holidays fast approaching, it’s a great idea to keep in mind what Derby has to offer families. From days out at the cinema watching Despicable Me 3, to the best places to keep your little ones entertained, we’ve explored the whole of Derby to give you a list of the best ways to keep your kids happy over the holidays.
If the British weather isn’t up to much, a trip to the cinema is the perfect way to keep your kids happy. This July, there are going to be plenty of blockbusters hitting the big screen, including Despicable Me 3, The Emoji Movie and Spiderman: Homecoming (for your older children). So whether your little ones love the Minions or can’t wait to see their favourite emojis come to life, you’ll have plenty of options to keep them happy.
We’re so lucky to live in a part of the UK that has access to some of the most beautiful parks in the country. Just 10 minutes from our Village shop is Derby Arboretum, the first public park in England, and just a few minutes further away is Darley Park, a beautiful escape from the rush of city life. If you’ve got access to a car, we definitely recommend the 40 minute drive to Dovedale National Nature Reserve. With breathtaking scenery, plenty of wildlife and a beautiful trickling river, your kids will love it.
The best way to bring a family together is with a decent meal. Here at Zan Fish, we offer a full kids menu where they can choose from: 4 chicken nuggets, sausage, fish nuggets, kebab, burger or fish cake and enjoy them with chips, a drink and a lollipop. Not only that, but each of our kids meals only cost £3.20!
If your kids have plenty of energy and don’t mind heights, then a day spent at Bounce Revolution is a must. This trampoline park offers kids and adults the chance to bounce to their hearts content. Plus, there’s even a special range of courses for your youngest, including toddlers!
For toddlers, soft play centres provide hours of endless fun. Luckily for us, Derby has some of the best in the UK, including the award-winning Chucklebutties and Hickory Dickory’s Playhouse. From ball pools to climbing frames and exciting obstacles, your little ones will have a whale of a time dashing from one play area to the next.
Excited for summer now? We hope our list of family-friendly activities has got you raring to go for the school holidays – enjoy!
