Our top 5 guide to things to do in Derbyshire during Easter 2016

March 24th, 2016

Easter 2016 is nearly here and to celebrate, we’ve put together a handy top five guide of things to in Derbyshire during Easter 2016. Whether you’re looking for an egg hunt, a show, or simply a nice place to grab a bite to eat, we’ve got Easter covered.

1. Egg Hunts, Little Chicks and Spot the Easter Bunny at Chatsworth

Visit Chatsworth and join in the hunt for the Easter bunny who will be hopping in the gardens and farmyard over the bank holiday weekend. Chatsworth are holding daily Easter egg trails too, as well as Easter crafts and the opportunity to see their newly hatched chicks, spring lambs and guinea pigs.

For more information on Chatsworth’s Easter activities (which run right through until 10 April), take a look at their website.

Happy egg hunting!

2. Theatre Fun and Long Noses!

Visit the Guildhall Theatre and enjoy The Curious Adventures of Pinocchio, but book those tickets soon – it’s on Saturday 26 March and promises to be a popular event! Bringing the story of Pinocchio to life, children and adults alike will be entranced by the tale of a puppet who became a boy.

We think you’ll have a whale of a time!

3. Easter Bunny Tea

Treat the little ones to breakfast or tea with the Easter bunny and you can enjoy a full English or afternoon tea too! Wyevale Garden Centre, Findern is taking bookings now and you can go up until 28 March. Each child will also receive a cuddly toy, the chance to decorate their own Easter cookie and a fun-filled activity sheet.

Find all the details you need to book on the Wyevale website.

4. Ice Cream Easter

For an Easter trail with a twist, visit Bluebells at Brunswood Farm, Derby. All children will be given an ice cream Easter basket for a walk around their fields and can enjoy lamb bottle feeding, bunny petting and Easter ice creams!

Visit their website for more information.

5. SpongeBob’s Here!

Egg-cite your children with a trip to intu Derby where SpongeBob SquarePants will be bouncing around and offering interactive fun and games, including musical pant bumps, a limbo challenge, hysterical prank classes and more.
